Ultrasound in pregnancy - difficult choices and "fit for flight"!

In this episode we talk about ultrasound in pregnancy. Ultrasound examinations that are done around weeks 6, 12 and 18. Early early ultrasound, early ultrasound and routine ultrasound. Both private and public. Who has the right and requirements for investigations from the public, and who has to pay out of their own pocket. We mention the new biotechnology act from 1 July 2020, and NIPT. On a visit to Piroozeh at the Ultrasound midwife in Sandvika, we learn what to look for in the various examinations, and we get to join an expectant couple on their sneak peek of the little being in the mother's belly. We make it clear that by doing an ultrasound examination of a foetus, you may be faced with difficult choices. Choices that may require both courage and strength to make.
